My Hero Academia
The My Hero Academia CCG (now officially part of the UniVersus Collectible Card Game system) is a fast-paced, highly tactical card game where you pick a student or villain character and square off in a one-on-one fight.
Instead of traditional mana or energy systems, your cards act as your resources. The game uses a unique Control Check mechanic: every time you try to play an attack, block, or foundation card, you flip a card from the top of your deck to see if your character successfully musters the focus to pull it off. If you fail the check, your turn instantly halts or your defenses collapse.
It perfectly captures the trading blows, explosive combos, and tactical endurance of the anime's superhero battles.
## How to distinguish printings
My Hero Academia CCG (which is part of the UniVersus card game system) does have distinct 1st Edition and Unlimited versions for its cards, particularly for the earlier sets.
The differences between them mostly come down to collecting value rather than how they function in the actual game.
How to Spot the Difference
If you are looking at a card to see which print run it belongs to, check the bottom left corner:
1st Edition: These are from the very first print run of a set. They feature clean text boxes without any extra notation at the bottom left.
Unlimited Edition: If a set sold out and the publishers printed more to meet demand, these went out as Unlimited boxes. To distinguish them, Unlimited cards have the letters "RE" (short for Reprint) stamped in the bottom left corner.
Beyond that small "RE" mark, the cards are mechanically identical, featuring the exact same artwork, stats, text, and gameplay legality.
For sale: 34 single(s).
